Lim Mei Lin

Subang Jaya · Errand & Logistics

"My mother has a weekly grocery run and a fortnightly appointment she needs to get to. Before Tenang I was leaving work early every other week to sort it out myself. Now I get a message after each trip and I know it is handled. That alone changed how stressed I felt about her."

Petaling Jaya · Social Engagement

"My father-in-law had become quite isolated after my mother-in-law passed. The social programme gave him a reason to go out each week. After two months he was already talking about the tai chi group and the people he had met there. The monthly summary was a nice touch — we actually read through it together as a family."

Shah Alam · Festive & Occasion Support

"We used Tenang to help organise my grandmother's 80th birthday at her home in Shah Alam. She wanted a proper makan with the whole extended family and it felt daunting to arrange from Penang. The written plan they sent a week ahead was reassuring — nothing was left vague. On the day everything ran well and she was genuinely at ease throughout."

Damansara · Social Engagement

"Three months in and my mother looks forward to Thursdays now, which is her outing day. She goes to a hobby group near Damansara Damai with a companion from Tenang. I was sceptical at first but the companion coordinator is very patient and the outings are genuinely appropriate for her pace."

Puchong · Errand & Logistics

"I live in Puchong and my mother lives alone in Petaling Jaya. I cannot be there every week and I was relying on neighbours to help with groceries, which felt like an imposition. The errand plan sorted all of that. The shared calendar is simple and I can see what is scheduled. One time there was a change to the timing and they let me know in advance, which I appreciated."

Wong Hui Fen

Klang · Festive & Occasion Support

"We arranged Chinese New Year reunion at my grandmother's house in Klang through Tenang. My grandmother has lived there for forty years and was not willing to move the celebration, but the logistics of a family gathering for eighteen people were more than she could manage alone. Tenang handled the whole thing from preparation to clearing up. She enjoyed the evening without worrying about a single detail."

Case Studies

Three families, three different starting points

The situation

A retired teacher in Petaling Jaya — alone after bereavement

An 74-year-old retired school principal whose husband had passed away six months earlier. She was managing the household on her own but her adult children, all working in KL, were worried about how she was filling her days.

What was arranged

Social Engagement Programme, monthly. Activity calendar built around her previous interests — a batik painting class at a community centre in Taman Jaya, a weekly walking group, and a monthly visit to a local garden.

After three months

She had formed a small group of friends from the batik class and began attending independently alongside the arranged visits. Family received monthly summaries and noted a visible lift in her general mood. Companion remained the same throughout.

"She called to tell me about someone she had met at the painting class. That was the first time in months she rang me to share good news rather than to worry about something."

The situation

An 80-year-old in Subang Jaya — family in Singapore

An 80-year-old man living in Subang Jaya whose two daughters were both based in Singapore. He was independent at home but struggled to get to appointments and weekly shopping without help, and the daughters were flying back once a month to manage it themselves.

What was arranged

Errand & Appointment Logistics as a recurring weekly plan. Grocery run every Tuesday, appointment coordination as needed. Shared digital calendar with both daughters. Confirmation message sent after every completed outing.

Six months later

Monthly travel to Malaysia reduced to once a quarter, with confidence that errands and appointments were being handled reliably. No appointment was missed. Daughters able to follow the calendar in real time from Singapore.

"We were spending half the weekend travelling for things that now take a Tuesday morning. The confirmation messages sound small but they genuinely make a difference."

The situation

Hari Raya in Shah Alam — a large extended family gathering

A family of 22 wanting to hold Hari Raya at their grandmother's home in Shah Alam — her wish, and the right choice, but an overwhelming amount of coordination for a family spread across Selangor and Johor.

What was arranged

Festive & Occasion Support. Pre-occasion plan shared ten days before the event. Coordination of helpers, arrangement of the home, food serving assistance, and on-the-day coordination from arrival to post-gathering tidy-up.

The outcome

The grandmother hosted the gathering without needing to manage any logistics on the day herself. Family members travelled in from Johor Bahru and joined the occasion without being asked to set up or clear. Post-occasion debrief shared with the family the following day.

"Nenek was actually relaxed. For the first time in years she sat with us at the table for the full meal instead of disappearing into the kitchen."
