A steady presence at home, arranged with care.
Tenang was built around the belief that older relatives deserve familiar surroundings and attentive company — and that families deserve to stop worrying about the details.
Back to HomeWhere the idea came from
Tenang began in Petaling Jaya in 2019, when our founder, Siti Rahimah, found herself spending every weekend coordinating errands, companion visits, and family occasions for her own grandmother — tasks that piled up faster than any working adult could manage alone. She noticed that other families in Tropicana, Subang, and Damansara were quietly carrying the same load.
The name Tenang is Malay for calm or serene — and that is precisely what the service is designed to bring. Not a dramatic intervention, not a facility placement, but a steady, organised layer of support woven into an older relative's own home life.
We started with errand coordination and grew to include occasion support and structured social programmes as families told us what else was slipping through the gaps. Today, Tenang works with families across the Klang Valley, always on a basis that is discussed and shaped with the family first.
Our outlook
An older relative's daily comfort and social connection are worth taking seriously. Families who work long hours or live at a distance should not have to choose between career and home peace of mind.
What guides us
We are not a staffing agency. We are a coordination and companionship service that takes responsibility for the full arrangement — planning ahead, communicating clearly, and following through on the day.
Our commitment
Every programme is shaped in conversation with the family before it starts. We never begin a recurring arrangement until the scope, timing, and expectations are clear on both sides.
A small, dependable team
Siti Rahimah Aziz
Founder & Programme Director
Siti Rahimah founded Tenang after coordinating her own family's home arrangements for three years. She oversees every programme design and family consultation.
Lee Hui Shan
Logistics & Errand Coordinator
Hui Shan manages the errand and appointment logistics programme, building the route plans, shared calendars, and family update system that keeps everything running smoothly.
Rajan Nair
Social Engagement Lead
Rajan coordinates the monthly social programme — sourcing local community events, hobby circles, and outing venues suited to older residents of the Klang Valley.
Standards we hold ourselves to
Written programme plans
Every arrangement — whether a single occasion or a recurring monthly programme — begins with a written plan shared with the family for review before anything happens.
Privacy and discretion
Family and household details are kept strictly within our coordination team. We do not share personal information with third parties beyond what is needed to carry out each errand or arrangement.
Timely family communication
Confirmation messages, post-errand updates, and monthly summaries are sent on schedule. Families are never left waiting to find out how the day went.
Companion continuity
Where a programme involves repeated visits or outings, we assign the same companion coordinator so the older relative builds a familiar, comfortable relationship over time.
Scope agreed before start
No programme begins until the scope, schedule, and expectations have been confirmed in writing with the family. Changes to scope are discussed openly before taking effect.
Local knowledge and network
Our team knows the Klang Valley well — the community centres, quiet parks, accessible venues, and transport options that make outings comfortable for older residents.
Home assistance coordination in Petaling Jaya
Tenang operates in Petaling Jaya and the wider Klang Valley, working alongside families who want a dependable layer of coordination for an older relative's home life. Our work covers three main areas: occasion and festive support, errand and appointment logistics, and monthly social engagement programmes.
What sets our approach apart is the emphasis on planning and communication. Many families come to us because previous arrangements — whether informal helpers or ad hoc coordination — left gaps in follow-through. At Tenang, every programme has a written plan, a named coordinator, and a clear communication rhythm so the family always knows what is happening.
We do not provide medical, nursing, or regulated professional services. Our focus is on general companionship, household logistics, errand coordination, and structured social activities — things that make a significant difference to daily comfort and family peace of mind without crossing into specialised care.
